In the past, Tokyo Handa-En had the honour of preparing sencha for the Japanese Imperial Household.
Dedicated Sencha Phoenix (Hō-ō) carries on the traditional light-steaming method of that era, carefully crafted to draw out the refined umami and elegant aroma of exceptional tea leaves.
We recommend brewing this sencha slowly with slightly cooler water to fully appreciate its delicate character and lingering sweetness.

② Sencha Chiyo no Kaori 30g
Our No.1 best-selling sencha, lightly steamed to achieve a refined balance of aroma, umami, and freshness.
This tea is a carefully crafted blend of organic tea leaves from Kirishima, Kagoshima, and selected leaves from the mountainous regions of Shizuoka, creating what we consider the ideal expression of classic sencha.

③ Fukamushi-cha (Deep-steamed Sencha) Koi Midori 30g
A richly flavoured yet refreshingly smooth deep-steamed sencha from Makinohara, Shizuoka.
The longer steaming process brings out a deep green colour and mellow body, while preserving a clean finish.
Naturally high in catechins, this tea is ideal for everyday enjoyment and tastes wonderful both hot or cold-brewed.
