Kohiki Matcha Bowl “Carnation” By Kōsen Tanaka

Kohiki is a traditional ceramic technique in which a white slip is applied over the clay body before firing, creating a soft, milky surface that highlights the natural warmth and texture of the clay.

About the Artist｜Kōsen Tanaka

Kōsen Tanaka is a Kyoto-born ceramic artist. After establishing his own kiln in Yamashina in 1986, he later moved his studio to Fushimi, Kyoto. In 1993, his work was exhibited in Paris as part of a contemporary Kyoto and Kiyomizu ware exhibition. He has also received numerous selections in juried exhibitions in Japan.

【Care Instructions】

• Before use, lightly rinse the bowl with water.

• After use, gently wash with lukewarm water as soon as possible.
  In most cases, water alone is sufficient.

• If necessary, use a small amount of mild dish soap and a soft sponge.

• Please avoid scrubbing the painted areas or soaking the bowl for extended periods.

• Dry thoroughly with a soft cloth and allow the bowl to air-dry completely before storing.

• Do not use in a microwave, dishwasher, or oven.
  

粉引（こひき）は、素地に白化粧を施して焼き上げる技法で、やわらかな白と土味の表情が魅力の焼き物です。

作家について｜田中香泉

田中香泉は、京都生まれの陶芸家。昭和33年京都生まれ。昭和61年に山科にて独立築窯後、伏見区に工房を構える。平成5年には、現代の京焼・清水焼をパリ展に出展するなど、国内外で作品を発表し、公募展でも多数入選している。

【お手入れ方法】
・ご使用前に、さっと水にくぐらせてからお使いください。
・ご使用後は、できるだけ早めにぬるま湯でやさしく洗ってください。
通常は洗剤を使わず、お湯洗いで十分です。
・汚れが気になる場合のみ、中性洗剤を少量使用し、やわらかいスポンジで軽く洗ってください。
・絵付け部分を強くこすったり、つけ置き洗いはお控えください。
・洗浄後は水気を拭き取り、十分に乾燥させてから保管してください。
・電子レンジ、食洗機、オーブンのご使用はお控えください。
