Shino Matcha Bowl “Sheep”

Shino ware is a traditional style of Mino pottery produced in the Mino region of Gifu Prefecture, Japan, known for its soft, warm character created by a white glaze. This matcha bowl features a charming sheep motif, simply and gently painted within a deep, expressive glaze.

When preparing matcha in this bowl, the sheep—appearing to run freely among the clouds—bring a sense of calm and quiet joy, adding a gentle touch of playfulness and warmth to the tea setting.

【Care Instructions】

Before use, lightly rinse the bowl with water.
Allowing the ceramic to absorb a small amount of moisture helps prevent tea stains and marks.

After use, gently wash with lukewarm water as soon as possible.
In most cases, water alone is sufficient. If needed, a small amount of mild dish soap may be used for stubborn stains.

After washing, dry thoroughly before storing.
Storing the bowl while damp may cause stains or odors over time.

Do not use in a microwave, dishwasher, or oven.

As each piece is handmade, variations in the glaze texture and fine crackle patterns (kannyu) may occur.
These are natural characteristics of Shino ware and part of its unique charm.

志野焼は、岐阜県美濃地方で生産される美濃焼の一種で、白釉を用いた柔らかく温かみのある風合いが特徴です。本作は、深みのある釉調の中に、素朴なタッチで描かれた羊の意匠が愛らしい抹茶碗です。

【お手入れ方法】
・ご使用前に、さっと水にくぐらせてからお使いください。陶器が水分を含むことで、茶渋や汚れが付きにくくなります。
・ご使用後は、できるだけ早めにぬるま湯で優しく洗ってください。通常は洗剤を使わず、お湯洗いで十分ですが、汚れが気になる場合のみ、中性洗剤を少量お使いください。
・洗浄後は、十分に乾燥させてから保管してください。湿気が残った状態での保管は、シミや匂いの原因となることがあります。
・電子レンジ、食洗機、オーブンのご使用はお控えください。
・手仕事による陶器のため、釉薬の表情や貫入（細かなひび模様）には個体差があります。これらは志野焼ならではの風合いとしてお楽しみください。
